Polyethylene PE
High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) is a linear polymer that is used to create materials, such as, arena board, telecomducts, fuel tanks for vehicles, meter & valve boxes, plastic lumber, folding tables and chairs, storage sheds, pipes, etc.
Because of the absence of branching, the more closely packed structure has a higher density and specified strength. It is harder and more opaque, which can withstand, to some extent, higher temperatures. (120° Celsius for short periods, 110° Celsius continuously).
Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) a polyolefin that is widely used for producing containers, such as, dispensing bottles, wash bottles, tubing, etc. Originally developed some 50 years ago by the high pressure polymerization of ethylene, other products made from it are: trays, different usage containers, corrosion-resistant work surfaces, etc.
Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) is a polyethylene with a density < 965 kg/m, produced by a low pressure process. Polyolefins are produced from olefin (alkene) monomers because the olefins contain a reactive double bond. The starting material, ethylene, is called the monomer and the final product consisting of many thousands of bound ethylene units is called the polymer. Co-monomers (higher alpha olefins such as butene, hexene, octene) are used to control the density and other physical properties.
Medium Density Polyethylene (MDPE) is a type of polyethylene defined by a density range of 0.926–0.940 g/cm3.[1] It is less dense than HDPE, which is more common. MDPE can be produced by chromium/silica catalysts, Ziegler-Natta catalysts or metallocene catalysts.
Polypropylene (PP)
Polypropylene (PP) also known as polypropene, is an economical material used in a wide variety of applications, such as, packaging, textiles, stationary, reusable containers and many more. Its combination of physical, chemical, mechanical thermal and electrical properties are not found in any other thermoplastic.
Though it has lower impact strength, the superiority of its working temperature and tensile ability to low or high density polyethylene, give excellent resistance to organic solvents, degreasing agents and electrolytic attack. Even light in weight, PP is tough and possesses many outstanding properties including: resistance to staining, heat, and has a low moisture absorption rate. Polypropylene (PP) is ideal for the transfer of hot liquids or gases.
